Background
The Future Devil is a caged thing living in Public Safety's holding pen, used for negotiating contracts with hunters desperate enough to accept. Aki visits it in the hospital in episode 11 and agrees to a contract in exchange for precognition. The price is his right eye. The devil shows him the 'best future' it can imagine for him as a kind of sales pitch, and Aki laughs out loud at what he sees, then signs anyway. The show never tells you what he saw. It does tell you that after seeing it, Aki walked into the Katana Man raid with a lightness he had not had the whole season.
